Welcome to PhoeNix Wellbeing !
I am Nix Barnaville and I am passionate about connecting people to their bodies, nature and each other.
My background in is in theatre & circus which led me into the field of creative wellbeing.
Several years ago, I rediscovered my love of the outdoors – especially the thrill of plunging into cold water. That joy sparked a cold water obsession and ultimately led to the creation of Court Farm Lakes, an open water swimming and wellbeing venue.
I see myself as a guide rather than a teacher; offering gentle cues & playful invitations to explore movement and connection with your body.
My sessions are shaped by my creative background and focus on building a positive, joyful relationship with movement.
I have over 20 years experience in working with my body, developing a broad knowledge of anatomy and neuro science. I have further developed my skills by training with some of the best instructors world wide.
Classes include Aerial and Mat Yoga, movement & breathwork
I recently trained in Aufguss sauna performance and now offer regular immersive sauna sessions.
The Phoenix represents Renewal and Revival - giving new energy and life - and Restoration- to bring us back to ourselves.
Inclusivity, authenticity and community are at the heart of everything I offer,
I welcome you to join me to -
Renew, Restore , Revive and Re-connect your mind , body and soul .
Regular Offerings
Aerial yoga
My background is in Circus and physical theatre , for me the combination of the aerial arts and yoga is the perfect balance .
Aerial yoga combines traditional asana (the physical postures of yoga) and yoga philosophies with the aerial arts using an aerial hammock.
You can be fully supported by the hammock — wrapping around particular body parts, keeping other parts on the floor.
Hanging fully or suspending individual body parts is believed to create traction and open your body more gently and intuitively than when you’re on the floor.
Gentle flow is suitable for all who are new to a yoga and aerial yoga practice, a more yoga focussed class with some beginner level aerial yoga poses.
General class is for those who are confident in the air and have practiced yoga regularly, we will explore some flips&tricks
Restorative is suitable for all and is inspired by Yin Yoga practices to bring ease into the body and mind
Mat based Yoga
My yoga style draws on my creative practice and can be a playful exploration of the body and mind . I take inspiration from many yoga styles including Iyengar, Yin and Ashtanga , I also weave in somantics and movement to facilitate you into a positive relationship with your own body.
I have a passion for movement and neuroscience and enjoy keeping up to date with the latest research and practices.
My classes are open to all who wish to explore their bodies , I offer adaptations and props to help support you on your yoga journey.
Classes include focussed breathwork, exploration of key traditional yoga poses and meditation.

Retreats
I am collaborating with Lucy Wright from Make+Move to bring you Summer's Joy In Sweden
Embrace Summer
Feel more joy.
Long days. Warm temperatures. Brightness.
Summer is a time of expanse. Of lightness. Of exploration.
It’s the time for movement, action & joy. It’s when we feel more open to try new things, make new friends, be more playful.
And this retreat will give you space for all of these.
There’ll be big skies, dense forests, lakes, sauna culture and SO MUCH MORE.
So join this transformative retreat:
11-14 June 2026

STIR THINGS UP
To encourage a sense of playfulness. Of exploration. Of depth. Of joy.
Within your retreat will be yoga, aerial yoga, embodied movement, breathwork, rest and voice activation.
The yoga will pull from Katonah yoga, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Vinyasa Flow. A potent and unique blend that’s familiar with unfamiliar twists.
Aerial yoga will see you fly in beautiful silk hammocks. Conjuring images of an acrobat - which may or not happen. What will definitely happen is that you’ll feel supported and held, by both the hammock and Nix as she calmly guides you.
There’ll be breathwork to enliven, restful practices to down-regulate, voice activation to build your power and more fun, play and joy than we can capture on this screen.
Classes will cater to different abilities through variations and modifications, giving the chance to challenge yourself, go easy or just mix it up.
“A retreat that lets you slow down, feel free, and truly embrace summer”
— Katie, Sweden Retreat, 2025
To perform a ritual is to elevate an experience. Move it from the mundane to meaningful.
Your retreat will be bookended by Opening & Closing Circles. An ancient practice that holds value, meaning and simplicity. A way to come together, share & witness.
During the retreat there’ll be opportunity to participate in Sauna Rituals, elevating simply sitting in a sauna to something more.
Each breakfast will be taken in silence. In gratitude to those that prepared your meal, the process of growing and to give time for internal musings.
These rituals will help to stitch your experience together, weaving a thread between sessions that may give rise to new thoughts or new behaviours. All adding to the expansion of this retreat.
